• Voluntary charity work, raising over £30,000 for St Nicholas's Hospice via a car show displaying 600 vehicles and over 3000 people attending.

• Student member of the IMechE.

• Holder of a PADI diving licence.

• Representing Loughborough University in the BUCS downhill mountain biking race for 3 years running.

Skills

Practical & IT
• With an engineering and construction background, this has given me a great deal of experience of workshop
and construction methods. Whilst at university I have now furthered my learning with more experience with CNC machines and other automated machinery.
• Ability and knowledge to draw to BS8888 standards in engineering drawings.
• Computer software; Mac OSX & Windows.

• CAD software; Siemens NX8.5, Keyshot, Vericut and SAMMIE Ergonomics.

Communication and team work:
• Regular presentations to audiences of up to120 people for end of project review and assessments within my
degree.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work with others as demonstrated with my work experience and continued
throughout my studies in my successful group assignments.
• I was a enthusiastic member of the Combined Cadet Forces (CCF), where I had to take orders and fully
implement them.

Leadership:
• I am the Social Secretary of the Loughborough Student Cycling Club. Within my role I have to organise large
events for the 140 members, abide by a set budget, source sponsor deals and kit.
• Vice hockey captain for my school team.
• Within project work I often take a lead role organising the meetings and group, delegating tasks and
checking that everyone is happy and on track with their set work.

Hobbies and Interests

• I am a keen hockey player, playing at university and also for my home club in Bury St Edmunds.

• An avid skier and instructor, taking part in many ski trips.
• My main hobby is cycling. I do this competitively, socially and to stay fit. I also have great interest in it not just as a sport but also the technology involved. The bikes that I compete on are all built entirely by myself and I do every bit of maintenance from hub rebuilds, wheel truing, suspension servicing, brake bleeding etc. I also service and repair other people's bikes as a small business.
